Rapid Jack Delivers
PROFESSOR OUTBOARD
While the transom jack isn't a new discovery, racers have proven their effectiveness for many years. As transom jacks have evolved over the last thirty years, now both anglers and pleasure boaters have discovered the benefits of a transom jack.
Today's boating enthusiasts demand the most performance from their rigs. It is challenging for the user to find the right combination of set back, running height, and an effective propeller. Since this "tweaking" can require a lot of experimentation with engine height, the Rapid Jack which is the quickest, most user friendly manual jack plate on the market make sense. Not only does it allow you to lower your engine for that small pitch prop to pull the kids skiing, it allow you to raise the engine in one minute to be at that sweet spot when you are after all-out performance. Just Count the Clicks!
Some hulls and props can't perform to their fullest potential locked at one compromised transom height. Obtaining pulling power from your outboard motor meant giving up the thrill of all out performance. On the other hand, all out top end speed meant giving up pulling power.
What does the performance benefits of a jack plate mean? Quite simply, the setting of the engine back from the running surface moves the boat's center of gravity back. Essentially, this means the hull is rebalanced to favor the bow so the engine can devote more effort to driving the boat forward rather than lifting it up.
Secondly, setting the engine back allows the prop to run in the calm swell behind the boat. So you can run your outboard height for less gear case drag without getting prop cavitation. Moving the prop back gets it out of the turbulent, hull-disturbed water. You get a better "Prop Bite" because the prop is running in smoother, more solid water.
Thirdly, setting the engine back gives it more acceleration power. You get on plane quicker (less hull drag) and accelerate faster. Handling is improved. The more effective prop bite makes steering more responsive. And, the engine set back adds stability in rough water because, in effect, you're running a longer, more stable hull.
A simple solution to rigging your boat for maximum performance is the Rapid Jack just count-the-clicks. The Rapid Jack incorporates a unique ratchet lifting mechanism that allows adjusting the engine up or down in easy 1/4-inch increments with one wrench in one minute. The Rapid Jack is the most-convenient-to-use manual jack plate on the market. Hydro Dynamics offers a Rapid Jack for every application from the 4-inch up to a 15-inch unit. The ease of raising or lowering your engine and finding that sweet spot is unmatched.
If you have a gnawing concern that your rig is not performing at its fullest potential, a professional propeller man is an excellent resource. He realizes that a little tweak here and there can make all the difference. The key to obtaining the most from your rig is proper set-up.
What do these performance benefits mean to you? Quite simply, more fun and flexibility from your rig! With the Rapid Jack, you can have the best of both worlds. The end result is better fuel and propeller efficiency; improved handling; and, a better performing boat. It may be more than just a mere coincidence that you will find the Rapid Jack Logo on the fastest race and hi-performance bass boats in the country. Perhaps, it is more to do with the vast number of jack plate models designed for specific hulls.
